Herring Visits (2)
The game has gone slowly recently.
Tonight I went to see Mr Richard Herring do a gig here in York. Because of fate and destiny and events tying up and suchnotch, it was fairly obvious to me that today would be a good day for spotting. As soon as I left the house to visit the shopping, a zillion cars would pass me in consecutive order and everything would be ok. Because Herring was in town.
But my trip to Sainsburys was uneventful (apart from the strange man with the bread that I may, or may not have, written or spoken about elsewhere). My trip home from Sainsburys also ended in failure. No spots. How could this be?! Herring was in town!
So I figured that basically the universe hated me.
The gig itself was very funny. Even the yoghurt stuff.
And on the way home, joy of joys, a 145 van outside the memorial gardens at 5 to 11. Yay!
So I figured that basically Mr H must have arrived in York quite late, probably around 7pm and hence his (in my imagination) positive psychic car spotting effect could not have started until then, maybe because it only has a range of a few miles. But once he'd done the gig, he had clearly stayed around afterwards for just long enough to help me out for a bit.
I hope he spends the rest of the bank holiday weekend up here. Or even the rest of his life. That is the degree of help that I think I'm needing on this thing now.
